Oh and the Momma and cubs...yeah nothing nice or cute about them! Beware when she charges next time...and she WILL charge, when she does that gun may not stop her! STAY AWAY is the best advice =). Enjoy your day~

Please Wendy, put that pistol in your back pocket next time. Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. Bang all the pots you want but have your last defense handy. Lastly, please practice with it. You have to be familiar with it before you need it. Good luck.

I picked up a couple of 5 gallon cans to make some more waterer heaters out of. We get these from time to time at work. If I were to collect them on a regular basis, would anyone be interested in one or two? They would have to be drained and cleaned after cutting before using them. They contained hydraulic fluid......

No charge, but you would have to come to the house to get them.

sorry I'm new to chickens & I'm confused

LOL. you're fine.

No. I cut them in half around, which gives me a tub that is about 7 inches tall with a solid bottom. I then make a base with a light fixture in it and make it so the metal can section fits ofer the top and can move around. Then you put the waterer on top so that the light bulb keeps the water from freezing. Most of the time I have a 25 W bulb in it, when it gets really cold I put a 40W bulb in it.

I'm up in Georgetown and have 2 SLW's that rule the roost, and 2 Partridge Rocks that are sweet and like to jump the fence to lay for the neighbors

. I also have a little cochin frizzle who's yet to lay, unless she's laying in the yard somewhere and I just got a new silkie roo from Cherokeefarms. Everyone is about 7 months old. We're getting an egg a day for the most part.

Thx for all the great entertainment and info!
Sue

I'm going to try that! I have 1 SLW and her sidekick that are so mean to our new silkie roo! Everyone else gets along fine, but I've been locking the two mean girls up behind some chickenwire so they hopefully all get used to each other without him getting hurt. Every time Sally Jesse is out there are little silkie feathers blowin around the yard
