Colorado

Hey Colorado friends. I've got a baby (golden laced polish) with a pasty butt. I've been keeping her clean, got some ACV in their water, and wetted their food. It's been just over a week and all of the others are totally fine. Since I've been cleaning her twice daily and started the treatments I'd say she's a little better.

I was told by the 'chick girl' at Murdoch's that I can use Corona Multipurpose Ointment on her to keep her 'lubed' if you will (sounds so gross!), and put a 2-3 very light coats on her over the weekend (Sat & Sun), none today.

Tonight I noticed that she suddenly has no feathers on her butt. What do you all think? Any additional advice?

Thanks!

My pasty butt chicks almost always lose those feathers from the poop sticking to it. The fluff comes out too easily. Don't worry she'll get them back eventually. I've found the best solution to pasty butt is ground up oatmeal in the food. Seems to clear it up right away.

This has nothing to do with my chickens. But our doe rabbit gave birth to 11 babies last evening. Yes, 11!!! A couple are tiny and probably won't make it, but still, that is a lot of baby rabbits. These are for my DD's 4-H meat pen project so she is pretty excited!

Good heavens, that is a large litter! Congratulations to your daughter!

Good morning! Eggsalad, those are cute babies! Ooodles warmer last night, 23. Woke the kids up a 1:15am to see the Blood moon. Fortunately for us, we could see it perfectly in the skylight on the house and didn't have to brave the screaming winds outside. Blood moon and Tax day, wonder what the seers would have to say about that one.

One of my goose eggs has hatched. The other is a late quiter. I feel bad for this little one as there is no
company for it. Does anyone know where i could get another so this little guy is not lonely?
