Colorado

Hi my fellow Coloradoans :). I live in Denver and got our first 5 chicks this morning from my daughters preschool. The hatched them and have been doing some animal science learning :)

We are allowed to have up to 8 chickens here but no roosters, the problem is, of the 5 chicks that hatched, I am sure one or more will be roos!!

Be safe and enjoy the Colorado weather!!!!

Hey I'm in Denver too! There's a few Facebook groups (colorado chickens and colorado backyard chickens) that are great for advice if your on there! I had to rehome a roo last year it's not too difficult to find someone who will take one.

Hello!

megshenhut, I feel silly but must tell you the truth - I was looking at the wrong juveniles when I though the Welsummer pullets were bigger than the cockerels lol. I will still try to get pics of them this weekend, I want to know what you think.

Anyway, critical fire danger and blizzard warnings all in the same day - Happy Spring Colorado! Hope everyone stays safe. We are only supposed to get a few inches out of this one- guess we will see. I have been tiding up the treasures appearing as the snow melts and the chooks have been working overtime finding who knows what as well.

Pozees, actually I'm glad you messed up when looking at the welsummer cockerels. I couldn't imagine that the cockerels were smaller than the pullets unless something was really wrong with them. I know that you will not want to keep 3 cockerels for your 2 pullets and that might give me a chance to add one to my flock and I'm definitely looking at size if I do that. LOL But I'd would love to see photos of them.

The wind has really picked up here, must be northern part of what is moving through TX, and OK, is really blowing hard!!! No way to work outside....... ;(

I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in going in on an order of rare geese? Please PM me if you are interested, they would be available in May. Thanks!
