Colorado

That is PC. I got some eggs from here and have two beautiful BIG birds from her blue eggs. I'll try to get pictures.

PC brought me eggs that she had stored in the refrigerator and some that were room temp. She marked them. Several of the eggs that were stored in the refrigerator developed and 2 hatched.
THat is the sum total of everything I know about the subject. :idunno

Ok thanks and just your experience with hatching is helpful to me since I have never done it. Also the offer still stands if you want some barnyard mixes for hatching.

I think that 2/8 that came out of the fridge hatched that I gave Mo. It was early in the season so fertility was iffy. Eggs were 7-10 days old. There is a long post on fertile TJ eggs as hatching eggs. I'd just find a place on the counter to hold them.

Ok thanks

Here's what the post office did to my last box of shipped eggs, which are now not developing under the broody...

I'm pretty upset about it. I don't know that any will hatch at all.

Oh gosh how horrible, hope it all turns out with you and some baby chicks! I would have been listed as well!

Had to share my latest thrift store finds....

I didn't find this one, my BF mother gave this vase to me for x-mas. She did find it at a thrift store.

Also this, I found yesterday, I have a thing for snap shirts.

That vase is super cute. I like the shirt print having the horses on it is neat.

We make a game of going to the thrift stores. Gotta find the chicken lol. You would be amazed how many things have chickens on them.

My little chicks are getting big. Crazy bad hair days for the polish and the Iowa Blues have finally started growing.
Everyone is in the bigger brooder and doing well.

Enjoy the lovely weather we should have today.

Just got home from attending a bee keeping class on splits. First time ever beside an open hive. It was AWESOME! Had them landing on me and got to watch them close up. Really was a blast! Can hardly wait to get mine the end of April. Wish I could have them right now as I'm becoming over run with dandelions they could be collecting from. Hate to see all that pollen and nectar go to waste (some one ELSE'S bees!)! Anyway, beautiful Colorado spring day! Hope all are getting to enjoy it. I'm smelling and tasting BBQ for dinner tonight and probably tomorrow as well

It is so great that you are getting into beekeeping. I had two hives make it through the winter. The girls were bringing in lots of pollen today, so I am pretty sure the Queen is laying.
I am going in to the hives on Monday to see if I need to do splits (I doubt it) and reverse the boxes. I have two bee packages coming the end of April, I am excited too!
BBQ sounds great! Wish I thought of it, I am making sushi for dinner....BBQ tomorrow.

Great day today. Picked a new grill, after the ten year old one went dead last month. We got the drip system for the blackberry bushes, but didn't get it set up today. Tomorrow we'll be burying the hardware cloth, and setting more grass seed in the flower garden. Busy busy and loving the sun.
