Any of the feed stores around Falcon or Peyton getting chicks in sometime soon? And, are those chicks usually vaccinated against Mareks? I'm trying to plan my fall/winter flock and for sure need to replace some old ladies. I really want some cinnamon queens, but shipping charges make me hesitate.

Big R on Constitution had chicks last year around this time...... and they will probably be vaccinated. Are you looking for vaccinated or unvaccinated chicks???

Last thirsday big r in Fountain was gearing up for chicks. They should have them by now. I wouldnt be surprised that all big r's have them by now. It is a toss up on what you get from them however. They do not keep them separate and they dont know what they get. Its quite frustrating.

I think I have to do vaccinated, at least if they're going to make it to layer age. I guess I'll be heading to big r tomorrow.

So glad you can stay!! I had this funny feeling that someone in the owner's circle would talk some sense into him/her.  You don't just get rid of good tenants, especially for something as "specialized" as your property is.

Thanks it has been a let down as now we have more options, the family was wanting more money for the rental. So now it is open ended with the son, so we are trying to decide what we want to do. feels good not having to rush out Of hear and I can endure my chicken breeding hobby a bit more with a change in roo's.

Interesting that Big R is the only feed store that carries chicks in late summer....... maybe it will catch on! Ideal has a $7 small chick order charge, that is not very much to get the breeds you want, they also sex them, in case Big R only has straight run.

Let us know what you end up with!! I know will be guessing game until they feather in completely, but I would be happy to play along!!

NoCo feeder supply has chicks year round. They do not offer vaccinated chicks.

Big R has only unvaccinated chicks. So, we have to order online. I'm looking around at the best shipping deals, and will let you guys know what I find...my husbands chicken crazy response was, "I'm willing to order 15 for cheaper shipping" as if we need a dozen and a half eggs a day
