I would insulate. It not only keeps it warm in the winter but cooler in the summer. Use pine shavings instead of cedar.

Hey DuckyBoys - Elizabeth Country Corner is where I get almost all my animal stuff too. I love their coupons.

I got my chicks from them this year also.

Cedar is considered toxic to chickens so it should never be used around them.

I am still thinking about picking up another girl, but hubby is freaked out about the 2 ducks in the brooder and the 4 other ones due to hatch by the weekend (I think...I forgot when I set them!!!).

I am still focused on the egg layers too. I don't want anything that could fly in to the neighbors yard and end up as dog food

Just when I was thinking that spring was really here...got myself a real red sunburn on Sunday from being out and gardening all day...today, were under a layer of snow!!! How's everyone else today?

Preparing for the "big snowstorm" that's expected. Y'know, I just don't trust the forecasts anymore but it's better to be prepared and have it not happen then not be prepared and get smacked upside the head. Even if we do get a lot of snow, it looks like it will be warm enough the next few days to get rid of it all.
