Colorado

Welcome @Peetza I'm an Army brat myself so didn't grow up in CO either. Everyone fell in love with the area so we ended up staying. Of course it was retire and stay here or go to Kuwait so it wasn't a hard choice.

If anyone is headed to the poultry show at the NWSS tomorrow, come stick your head in the pizza truck over on the coliseum side. I'm helping a friend out since my truck is put away for the winter. Too many freeze breaks last year. Gets expensive when your espresso machine freezes!

I finally got my green egg! Got one a couple days ago and another today. I think they might be from different pullets because the color shades are different. Here they are next to a couple of blue eggs.

Here are the EEs I thinking are laying.

@lomine that's great! I agree, I think you may have 2 new layers.

and @Mtn Margie it is a mess up here this morning! Lot's of snow, little visibility, and lot's of traffic (which always makes driving worse). Took me twice as long as usual to get to work this morning. The chickens were mad. I did cover the top of their run with plastic a few weeks ago, which cuts down on the snow they get in the run, but it doesn't keep it out completely. They have been spoiled with how little snow we've had this winter. They probably had 2-3 inches in their run this morning without clear ground and they were just in the coop making all kinds of noise and looking out their window at me while I got their food and water. They will come out eventually for a drink and a bite to eat, but it will take awhile and a brave girl to be first. I try not to baby them and if they want to eat, they need to go outside. It's snowing, but it's not that cold or that windy, they can deal with it ;)

We have maybe 6 inches, cold though and getting breezy. Mine are all in.

If there are still no chicken tracks in the snow when I get home from work, I'll give them some food and water in the coop before it gets dark! Usually I come home to lots of footprints between the ramp and the feeder though, but the weather hasn't exactly let up yet.

I didn’t get much snow at all. Maybe 1/2 to 1 inch. It’s hard to tell because it’s so windy and just blowing all around. I was hoping for more snow just because we need the moisture. Its been so dry.

None of mine ventured out of the coop. I feed them inside because I don’t have a run so they’ll stay in on bad days. The older ducks are normally outside even when it’s cold. They don’t like the wind so they’re a bit grouchy about being stuck inside. They did enjoy getting treats twice in one day and a bunch of fresh straw to search.

Got a lovely dark brown egg today too so I’m happy.
