Colorado

Good morning, anyone in Colorado raise peafowl and willing to sell hatching eggs or chicks (males preferred since they would not be used for breeding)?

Need some help from my local Coloradans!

I've got 6 older hens in need of rehoming, downside is that we have had past members of this flock test positive for Mareks. None of the girls are sick or showing signs of stress, the Mareks postitive test was years ago, so they are all considered Mareks resistant. I am hoping someone who has also got a Mareks resistant flock (or knows someone who is looking to just have a few very socialized pet chickens) would be willing to take them. Here's the thread with pics and more info: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...ng-tough-situation-please-ask-around.1511703/

If you know anyone who might be interested, pleeease let me know! They are such sweet ladies and really need a good retirement home. :(

What with moving into a brand new house and all that entails, we finally got our coop & run put together list week. We went with the EGLU system. Of course, being newbies, we didn’t order the connector kit that allows you to attach the coop to the run, so I just ordered that.

I missed out on buying pullets from Percheron chick, but she suggested I check out Feeder Supply in Fort Collins for chicks. So the lovely bride and I went there and came home with 2 Olive Eggers, a Lavender Orpington, a Blue Orpington, a Bielelfelder and a Green Queen, all 5 days old. We also picked up the fixings for a brooder set up.

It is a great feeling to finally get things started!

Looking to possibly rehome 2-3 hens. Buff Orpington White Easter Egg and Dominique. I'm in an urban area and having issues with space + a broody. Kinda learned the hard way how much space they need. The buff is broody every month and i constantly have to break her. Makes me kind of sad all she wants to do is be a mom. She's a little mean to my other hens but is a total sweet heart to humans. My Easter Egger also a little mean but sweet to humans and lays light blue eggs almost everyday. Dominique is bottom of pecking order and picked on alot 🤕 she is a daily layer but always gets kicked out of the nesting box. I have to close off the coop to other hens when she lays so they dont bother her. She loves people.

All my birds very sweet just think they would be happier and do better with much more space to roam and lay.

Let me know 👍
