Hi Melissa!

Sorry to hear about the ducks. I lost one recently and this time it was an owl. A couple of years ago it was a hawk. We both live in areas with plenty of houses around. It still amazes me how much wildlife we still have to deal with!

I am borrowing someones incubator and have quail eggs in it now. I will let you know if I can actually hatch some this time

If you need it, you are welcome to borrow mine too.

Please, do let me know.

I am looking forward to raising ducks again soon, if you have any leads on those. I have an idea too for their "pond. It's still in my head. My last "Pond" for my duckies didn't drain into the garden the same way I was hoping it would, but this time I am thinking of adding a circulation pump....it's all still in my head.

What area are you in Mrsengeseth? I'm up in Longmont and will have Welsh Harlequins in early spring, eggs or ducklings. I also could have some chocolate runner/WH crosses.
My ducks are laying around in the snow with their feet tucked up this morning. They seem really grumpy too, they're pushing each other with their bills over the water and food. I don't think they are happy with this weather. This was the first time (probably since last winter) that they haven't started grumbling to get out of their houses at the break of day. I better get the old sleeping bags back over their houses so they are warmer overnight.

My DH left Wed to Montrose with a load to Pepsi, then had to get to Meeker to pick up pallets to come back to Pepsi here in Denver. He went through Steamboat lastnight down Rabbit Ears and finally got home at 12:30am. He said it was horrible and very scary with no visibility. If any of you happened to watch channel 4 news lastnight, he was the trucker they interviewed while he was chaining up. It's about 11 degrees here.

He shouldn't have been but he was heck bent on getting home lastnight. He thought about stopping at the in Steambt but.....
Curtis was just very thankful to be home. He's a tired pup right now

I asked him if he was getting paid more due to the conditions he had to be in. What a rediculous trip. When he told me that he was going on Wed I just teared up and didn't say anything. They always ask him to run the mountains since many truckers don't even like to run them when it's dry out. Makes me mad but what can I do...
