who is the breeder and what kind of ducks?

Hi colowyo0809. The breeder is Nate of Shamrock Farms. Here's the link to his website for more details:

http://shamrockfarm.webs.com/

He is a BYC'er and very active on the Welsummer thread. He has a very good reputation amongst the contributors to that thread for his Wellies. I haven't read up on his ducks, so I can't say anything about them. He has Call, Rouen, and Muscovy ducks and Cotton Patch geese, and a couple types of pigeon as well.

Let me know if you are interested. PM me to discuss.

Thanks - Jamie.

I would love to, if he would have had Welsh's. *sigh* unfortunately, our eggs did not hatch, although I am cracking them open tomorrow morning to figure out what happened Sorry Linda!!

No problem, Linda. Sorry to hear about your eggs. Good luck finding some Welsh ducklings. Thanks for letting me know.

I think we are very close to reaching the minimum order - but if anyone else wants to pick up a chick or 2 or 3, we can add them in. I want to place the order soon before my spring gets crazy, and I lose track of things. We will be requesting a mid-May delivery.

For local Silkies, you should contact Cara here on BYC (Smoky73). But I'm not sure if she has Blues. You might also try Shylee (sackman) - she also has a lot of very nice Silkies. Both will probably be showing their Silkies at the NWSS tomorrow.

IDEALISTICROO: sent you a p.m.

Hogback: I'm thinking I'm thinking. Not sure I can get back into Denver any time soon. I live 1 hour SE of Denver. When's your order going in, and when's delivery date?

Edited: Would like a local source of chocolate eggers: maran chickens. Anybody near Elizabeth / rural Elbert County who has some chicks or pullets for sale?

OOOPS! Sorry Matthew and CJ. (I checked out your BYC page). Looking back at your post, I totally misread that. Thanks for being gracious about my mistake!

And I really am sorry to hear about your eggs.

Hey Mathew (or should I call you Linda II?

),

Sorry those eggs didn't hatch. Let me know what you see when you crack them open. If they are clear, I have an issue on my end. If they started to develop and quit, you may very well have an issue with your incubator. Especially since Zippy ended up as an only child.

If Zippy was a coturnix I would take her (him? It?) in a heart beat. But with Zippy being a button I don't have the right kind of cage.

I finally broke down and bought myself a wafer thermostat and a soon as it gets here and I get the temperature stable I am throwing a batch of coturnix eggs in. If that is successful I am moving on to duck eggs. I got the humidity issue under control in my homemade cooler-bator last hatch, but temperature fluctuations killed everything. I was given a Incube styrofoam bator and the heating element failed on me during the night right as I had a pip so I lost those too.

If the equipment upgrade doesn't help I am going to give up on hatching. Or maybe I will be forced to buy some silkies
