I HAVE BABIES!!!!

I went to lift up the lid of her dog house/broody hut and grab the eggs to candle and there were about 4 or 5 little yellow faces staring at me. Then mom flipped out so i left her her favorite treat on the edge of the nest and slowly backed away before the evilness of her broody stink-eye killed me

I will do a count after work tonight. I don't think they were done hatching yet. I will also give a girl/boy head count.

Hello all our local Murdocks (in Craig, CO) has a ton of pullets chicks that are cheep and I think I can get them even cheaper if I buy them all. They are SLW, White Rocks, Red stars, and a bunch of Colorodo born and breed blue and green egg layers. Cannot remember the breed but could find out if someone is interested. They are two- three weeks old. Wings are feathering out, strapping looking pullets. No roos. Let me know if anyone is interested and I can get them and we can meet .

Will check squash and strawberries later but will start more squash seeds now anyway. No such thing as too many squash (until it's the end of summer and there's zucchini coming out of your ears).

Decided to cancel garage sale. So... will be at Kiowa Country Corner at 9 a.m. with chicks to sell. We'll only be there as long as we have chicks so .. if you'd like to meet, look for me at 9! I'm the big lady with the tall kid with red hair and hubby. Probably in hubby's bronco since my car doesn't like wet weather.

Kathy/Ghillie: If you'd like to pick up Humphrey then, let me know. May be a slightly shorter drive.

ETA: forgot to add hubby to the saturday line-up!

Here in Parker (at 6500') we got heavy snow all night long and it is still going. Over a foot of it has piled up on our table outside. I won't complain about it, though... we needed this moisture so badly and it's finally here!! Thank GOD!

I left my peeps out all night-- when I got home from work late late last night I peeked in an the snow covered the top completely and the wind was light-- I closed all the doors and it made for a snug spot for them in the end. I left the lamp on all night to dry the place out and keep it warmer.

I checked on them this morning and they are just fine... a little irritated but they're fine. The snow has covered the hardware clothe completely, though, so they are essentially completely enclosed now on nearly all sides with snow! But they're warm, watered and fed and seem just fine.

Hard to imagine it'll be 65 this weekend, huh!?

BTW-- I wouldn't worry too much about your plants just yet. At least here in Parker, we didn't get a hard freeze (25 or below) and snow has been on top of the plants the entire time is got down to 32 and the snow is heavy and wet. This ironically has an insulating effect for the plants. So have hope!!!

Now, if our power would only stop going out!!!! My marine aquarium is NOT happy right now.

Merry Christmas! I was going to move the little peepers into the barn this week - real glad I didn't. The big girls have been locked in there for days and it's STILL SNOWING here! What a mess. Lost half the trees, many fell over the driveway and fence, but none onto the house(s), yet. It doesn't matter because the gate wouldn't open anyway. Thanks to John Deere I was able to get out and into town, where it's 4 miles away and raining:confused:. Welcome to the Palmer Divide, Peeps!

Let's hope this is the *last* snowstorm till fall.

Does anyone in the Denver area have a largish bird shipping container I could buy? Only need one and don't wanna have to buy a bunch online.
