If you can wait until the first of the month I will happily come out there and help however I can. I will also take a chicken or two off your hands

. I will also help you post whatever you want to sell on craigslist. (I am the craigslist queen!)

Thanks, Nora. I do plan to keep most of the bantam eggers and bantam blue silkies but I'll give you 2 silkies if we can figure out which are girls. The rest of the silkies will be kept, except if we've got more boys than girls.

And I forgot to mention that I have a broody hen sitting on 8 eggs, and they'll hatch on the 28th or so. Those chicks will be for sale.

I'll see if I can wait until the end of the month.

Still have to convince Hubby to sell most of the chickens too. He's gonna fight me on this and the goats, but I just can't devote time or energy to them.

I might have to cancel the chicken party because I really can't deal with raising enough chickens to slaugher .. all the way to August. SO much can happen between now and then. And I'm running on empty.

Just breathe, and take things one day at a time. I know that is so much easier said than done, but you won't do yourself any favors by freaking out. Does your son help with the animals at all? Interacting with animals is very therapeutic, it could be good for him.

Hi chicken folk! I'm new to the site, new to chickens (so new that I don't even have any yet), and relatively new to Littleton! We'll be getting 4 chicks around the end of June, hopefully our neighbors won't object to our new additions. I'm currently making a list of everything I want my coop and run to include and hopefully my husband will be able to have it built before the chicks are ready to move in!

from Arvada! Glad you found us! Be sure and post some pics for us of your coop when built and chicks when they arrive! What kind are you getting?

Foxes are out for chickens right now. I let my 8 week old chicks out yesterday afternoon while I was doing yard work, I went in to get my clippers and in less than 2 minutes a fox had hurt one and kill another chick.

No, he doesn't help a LOT with the animals. There are a lot of issues there. He has helped me make a list of the chickens he wants us to keep. Unfortunately, it's still longer than I'd like ... but 3 pens is better than 7.

Thanks for the heads up, Ossi. I have a cat stalking my chickens right now. Hope my rooster will protect them.

Kira, welcome!
Greeneggs, bless your heart, I understand having to get rid of the animals. Had to do the same with some of mine a few months ago. Just not enough time for everyone and everything.. Do hope your son is doing well.
