Colorado

Thank you.. He is a darling drake, but I have a cayuga drake who is entering "manhood" don't want to have too many boys. I was really hoping for eggs, have heard duck eggs are great eating and that runners lay tons.
we eat so many eggs around here, and I sell to friends in town. (I love it when people tell me how much better my eggs taste than the store.)
Well, I will keep my eye out for one.
thanks again though.

Hi all

I just finished running 48" 2x4 wire around a large part of the yard along the existing split rail fence. I'm hoping the fox(es) can't get over it. I have 3 pullets age 3 months and 2 just over a year. There is lots of room here now for more chickerdoodles so if anyone knows of any who need a good home with lots of room to run around please send me a PM. I'm thinking babies would adapt more quickly but I'm relatively new to this. STILL searching for a guard dog, too. Thanking you in advance, P

I don't know what type of guard dog you want. We have Border Collies (3). Two who are quite close to the chickens. They bring them into the coops at night and keep and eye on them during the day. Could they out do a mountain lion? I doubt it but they do let you know if things aren't right and they keep the neighbor dogs at bay.So..I thought I would post a couple pics for you. 1st the babies were raised in the house while in their brooder so all my pets would know they were ours

As you can see the Molly and Rio checking the chicks

Then M[olly makes sure they are all there

Then she can relax and let them play.

Borders are great dogs but you need to spend time with them and they too come in at night.

I need to have the name and number of anyone who process birds in the Denver/Arvada/Wheatridge/Lakewood area. Im looking for someone who will process the birds at their place. Any information is appreciated.
Thanks!

So does that mean you brought home one cat? I don't think anyone will mind if you post a pic! He looks really cute, but I'm already maxed out with 2 cats and 2 dogs. And one of the dogs just had surgery Friday for a bladder stone. Yuck!

Me too since the very idea of that hour drive up to Berthoud is really putting me off and that's the closest place I've been able to hear of. Don't care if it's a regular business or just your personal place.

Hello Colorado People! I am over here on the Western Slope near Grand Junction. I have a couple Call Duck Drakes available for sale and one hen. I hatched these out Spring 2011. Mother was a Butterscotch and Father was also Butterscotch. Unfortunately the parents passed away. I am asking $40.00 for each drake and $50.00 for the young hen. Really do not want to ship but am willing to meet at a reasonable distance. The drakes are on the grayish color side. Female is coloring out Butterscotch. Only a couple of months old.

I also have 4 Black Silkie Hens for sale. They all carry the Lavender Gene because the hens are in a pen with 2 Lav Gene carrying Roosters. Asking $25.00 each.. Not hatchery Quality. I hatched these hens this spring also. About 4 months old. Again, would rather not ship.

Please Contact me if you are interested. I will post pictures tonight. Thank you! Linda
