Hey all!

I'm in Durango, have 7 hens and a surprise roo. My first time with chickens. All of you here are so helpful! Can't believe the amount of information.

Thanks for all of your time & experience! Your info saved my surprise roo from the stewpot. My husband was anti-rooster, but I think he is coming around. As long as he doesn't get aggressive, he's being very good to his girls.

Have 3 California Whites, 3 Buff Orps, 2 Black Mutt chicks. Hoping to start seeing some eggs any day!

Haven't quite wanted to approach the idea of hatching chicks with the DH yet. He's still trying to keep the girls out of the perennials - hah! I'll try after he's been eating some good eggs.

OK so I have a question that I cannot seem to get a straight answer to.

I would like to know how many chickens I can keep in Loveland. Is it 6 or is it 8 or something else entirely?
I have been told both and have neighbors with six and others with 8 or more.
My computer chokes on the adobe that all the links from the city take me into.

I am hoping that someone here may have the actual answer. When I have call the city they transfer me around several times then the call is disconnected.

I would really like to add 2 more hens to my little group. I have 2 EE, 2 BA, and 2 California whites. I am hoping to be able to add 2 Columbian Wyandotte or Gold lace Wyandotte.

I just do not want to get into any trouble with the law.
