Well, we went and added 2 weiner pig boys to the crew yesterday
So the lady we got them from says to just feed them soy meal and milk. They're about 9-10 weeks old now. Just wondering how long to feed them this and when can we feed them big boy foods? They're for pets not food. She already had them castrated.

Um, that is too funny! I have raised pigs for meat , but not pets. Not enough room. Maybe try the sister site backyardherds.com for a more informative answer.
Thanks guys. I did go to the sister site but there aren't very many people on there and I didn't get any responses
Bit I knew my Colorado folk would come through
So what's good to feed them for meals? I think we're going to run over to the Co-op and ask but I wanted to get some feedback from you guys first. Since we spent $57 on milk flakes yesterday
and then $13 on soy meal and $11 on cracked corn I'll mix the feed that we end up buying today with a little cracked corn and the free range weeds and grass they're munching on should be good. And stop the milk and soymeal.
Ok, thanks Zilla. That makes since so they have room to roam and not just sit stagnate. They've actually got lots of room to roam but right now they're in the chicken/duck barn/yard and enjoying it. That's about a 1/4 acre to roam. DH said he may let them roam more which would be several more acres when they get a little bigger. The coyotes have been making their existence known very vocally at night. But everyone is locked in tight at sunset
Zilla I would love to get a couple'o girls from you if I can manage a road trip. I will be taking my daughter to Adams State the weekend of the 18th for college. Think I'll be coming back up on Sunday. Something to think about.
