Colorado

We got easily 15 inches, if not more, we'll be measuring in the morning since it's still coming down some. The girls didn't even come out of the coop today...but we got more eggs than we've had in more than a month! It's supposed to drop down tonight, but the coop is warm without a heater at this point.

Ugh I'll stick with our 5 inches. I'm not ready for the foot and over storms yet

Oh no coloradochick! That's awful! So sorry you are dealing wth that! Reminds me I need to put my girls water back out. I brought it in to thaw 'cause it was frozen solid!

It was 8* here overnight and got down to 11 in the coop but the girls were perfectly fine, not a speck of frostbite and they are happy and energetic this morning. Both of my layers already gave me their eggs, too, since they both skipped yesterday. I am thrilled to see that my girls are quite hardy in the cold!

I hear there are still folks without power and Xcel says maybe by tomorrow they'll have heat.

eta: I know the folks at the power companies work hard and out in the cold to boot. It's just very frustrating.

I think that's the worst, going without heat. And I think of all the people who go to the shelters on nights like these to have heat for a night. Makes me very thankful.

Hope everyones power and pipes are up to snuff tonight

My girls seemed pretty cold when I went out this morning. I felt so bad. A few were pretty fluffed up and giving me the "what the heck mom?!?!?" look. Like I brought all this cold. SOOOOOOO happy it's warming up over the next few days

Awwww that just sucks! We were at about 23 this morning chickens did just fine. Drove out above Rifle area 33 on the flat tops, checking out to see if we wanted to pull our pop-up camper up there tomorrow, and well thats not gonna happen. Over a foot of snow up there, So our buck season is over. It's a 3 hr drive each way for us. Hopefully we'll have better luck close to home with the bull tag DH got.

Same here...5*! Pipes are still stuck, no water at this point. I'm sorry you are dealing with it too.

The girls were fine, actually out and about this afternoon, I am so glad I laid in a ton more bedding before tucking them in last night!

BTW, how do you tell if they have frostbite? I've read about their combs, etc, but nothing specifically about how to tell.
