Anybody have any friends or relatives coming to Colorado from California (Berkeley/Bay Area) in the next couple of weeks? My puppy search has now led me there, and I'm hoping someone might be interested in driving the cutest, sweetest little puppy home to me. Spring can be like Fall. Sometimes our Falls are absolutely gorgeous and other times we just don't see any color.

Yes, it does seem that our transitional seasons are fickle only one in a given year can be long enough to enjoy for any length of time. Thanks for the welcome.

This one in particular is an Australian Shepherd/Standard Poodle. I'm looking at Goldendoodles, Australian Shepherds, Aussiedoodles, a few other breeds as well, and keeping an eye out on the shelter listings.

I'm curious-- how has the weather changed from 42 years ago??? What was it like then, compared to now?

Seems as if the climate was wetter back then. I can remember in the early 70's that we would get a snow storm once a week and it would snow feet with 10 ft drifts!! I worked down on 54th and I-25. When a storm was predicted the businesses would shut down at 2pm and send us all home. I lived on 80th & Wadsworth in Arvada. Many times(Most times) I wouldn't get home before 6pm. I drove a Toyoya Carina at the time-no 4-wheel drive. But that little car was a tank. We navigated some awful roads together.
Never had a 4-wheel drive til I became a wuss and moved up here in 2003.
Then in 1976 the weather changed. All that winter days were 65* and very little precip. Every once in a while we get a good storm. Lots of snow, electricity goes out and sheep are just white lumps in the pasture. But that doesn't happen very often. I have to admit that I miss those storms but then except for chores I don't have to go out in it anymore!!!

Ryan love your cartoon. Yeah the winds are still howling on the Front Range!!!

Coopa IMO herding dogs are the best dogs to have with livestock. They are very intelligent and agile. The are instinctive with the stock and really want to work. They need to be trained and should NEVER be allowed to work stock or even be with stock without you. If you get a herdingdoodle I can give the name of a person to help you train it.
I have a Border Collie that I trial with. He herds my chickens(they hate being herded) as well as sheep, steers and horses. Best dog ever in the world and I'll never have a better one. He is my right hand man on the ranch. Named Owen-hence Owensmom
