That is the only remedy that I've ever heard of for a broody. I have a Marans who refuses not to be broody!!! I just boost her butt out of the coop when I release all the girls in the am. Then if I am out during the day, I repeat the proceedure all day. She finally quits for a week and then goes right back to it!!

This am I woke up to that 4 letter word-SNOW. Supposed to go on all day. I guess that I'll crank up the stove again. Had a few really nice days which we enjoyed.

If anyone would like to order chicks from ideal, mcmurray or any of the various online hatcheries, please PM. I'd like to order a few birds myself and am looking to save on shipping and meet min order requirements. Sooner the better! Thanks!

Not happy right now, chicks were supposed to arrive at the post office today and it seems thev'e been stuck in Philadelphia since yesterday morning. Guess I can expect a box of dead chicks tomorrow....

Aww Stickers that a tough one to swallow

Where are they coming from. It's scary ordering chicks now with the holidays and all and then just the postal hooey going on. I hope they show and loss is very minimal

After hearing your news with the ordered chicks I’m overjoyed that my hatching eggs arrived today as I expected. I would have hated to have lost them.

Thanks guys I am
hoping they get here in AM, never had chicks arrive a day late before so hoping they make it. Just so fraustrating that they have been sitting in PA all day. Brighton PO is trying to track them down in the meantime. Wouldnt have ordered them but have been waiting to bid on more Cuckoo silkies for ages! Hope everyone else's arrive safely.

Any news? Probably too early in the day yet but man, what a mess. I hope your birds arrive safely. Experiences like this really turn me off from ordering chicks online. I'm sure I can find what I'm looking for locally, just have to work harder at it.

Best of luck today! It's cold out there but at least as the sun goes about its thing it looks like it'll be nice!

Good news chicks arrived this am. Lost 2 out of 16, could have been a lot worse! They are chowing down warm mash at the moment and seem to be doing just fine.
