Colorado

Hey that would be great. Right now they are either going to be cooked and eaten or just go into the trash as waste. I would love it if someone else could try and incubate them rather than waste them. Mine are so full right now and I won't have any space for a week or two when my current eggs go in the hatcher.

Yay! I'm so glad this worked out for you two!! DwD you'll have to keep us aprised on the progress on the Iffy eggs

I think I'll wait for the actual babies so I can get a girl or two and maybe a little man

I think I have a little girl that just hatched . I am going to band all the ones I think are girls so I can try to make sure everyone gets one of each instead of all boys or all girls. Not always possible but at least with the whites I can try. Let me know when you are ready and we will make sure you get a nice couple or trio. I have 20 eggs in the incubator--one due to hatch on sat the one every couple of days from here on out. I have almost a dozen eggs for DwD to try and hatch and half of those are normal but I just don't have the space and hate to ship eggs so I was just going to sit on them and see if someone went broody. So glad to put them to use and hope some hatch out

We have friends in both Bennett and Strasburg, I know the one set has chickens - but they live outside of Strasburg...outside of town that is. I can see what they know, if you don't find help with he links.

For what it's worth, the friends in Strasburg are looking to rent their home, it sits on an acre or two, I believe, and they have had a wonderful garden spot, chickens, dogs and bees...maybe more I can't remember right now. I know it's not the same as owning your own home, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

We went looking at houses today. The one we loved was in verbal negotiations with a buyer so we didn't even get a chance! I think we are going to find a rental in the area. My only concern is finding a short-term rental. I am hoping we can find a landlord that is okay with having a month-to-month lease. We definitely want to buy but right now things seem to be going fast. We close on our current house the 20th of April so we are feeling the time crunch. I have found some info. on line and also from another BYC'er regarding zoning. I know our realtor thinks we're a little nuts because "chicken friendly" is on our list of must haves!

Let me ask and see what they are looking for, they might be willing to do short term to fill the place.
