It's on wheels!
Welcome

Yes, we are undecided on where the coop will be in the yard. We are putting up a new fence and then getting rid of some sheds and then we will have options as to where to put it. The peeps like being mobile!

Well, small change in plans. I decided the nest boxes that I made for the inside of my 4x4 coop are just taking up too much floor space and, on the advice of Wendell, I need to make them bigger. So just as I thought I was done wit he coop it's time for my first modification. I'm going to build "external" nest box. Anyone have any great ways to attach it? I have a few ideas, but I'm sure I'm overlooking the simplest plan...

current set up...

If anyone can use this box you can have it. Two 12x12x12 boxes, this set up is modular and breaks down into 3 pieces (base, boxes, "anti roost device")

ONSTAD1 - Nice Coop, with that frame I would consider shelving angles or something similar but I am a far cry from a master craftsman.

So a night person or very early riser?

also, as a general rule, do the hens poop in their nest boxes much? wondering about ease if cleaning and how much weight that should have in my design,

From what I have read I think they do, I am trying to make my coop as easy to clean as I can. I actually have a good house exterior paint for the inside. I will probably paint the perches too but mine seam to drag crap everywhere.
