Got all the trusses built. Set to install them on Saturday morning.

Thanks Bro!

I will be adding a couple more verticle pieces (bracing?) to the end trusses to better accomodate the sheathing. This afternoon I will do that and measure out/mark their locations so that starting at about 8 AM Saturday, we will begin installation. After that, all that remains is the roof sheathing and roof finish (tar paper, shingles, etc), the egg door, trim, and paint. As soon as the roof sheathing is up technically I can put chickens in it.

Will you come and rebuild by coop for me???

Can't access the link while at work. What reasoning do they give as to not adding ACV during heat?

The author said it has an effect on the hens ability to absorbe calcium. Basically that it creates an acidic environment where calcium is best absorbed in an alkaline environment... Not sure if I really buy this if you are only adding a bit on an infrequent basis.

Interesting. For my chickens, I don't add that much or that often. My waterers are 5 gallon. I add a couple of tablespoons to each waterer about once a week. Enough to benefit, but I doubt too much. It barely changes the color of the water. It probably has a basis in fact, but you can also get cancer if you eat a cup of aspartamine every day for 10 years.........

It has that problem throughtout the year, just during the cooler times they eat more feed so they get enough calcium to make up for it. Makes sense to me, but if I feel the need for it, I'll still use it.

Babies, we have babies! I didn't realize how much I've been missing having babies. They're in the dining room until the garage has been readied. I've been slacking. Doh!

I love when they're this little and they shake their little butts to poo. There are 3 cornish rocks (wanted to see how they do) and 24 black broilers from Ideal. One little chickie was DOA. :( And there is one more itty bitty that I'm worried about, but everybody else is looking great.
