Colorado

I have been on a clear liquid diet for the last two days....not fair... I declare "Shenanigans".

My son has been playing in his legion baseball state tournament...I'm tripped in a hospital bed.

My wife says that the chickens have been noticeably upset these past few days...good to know that I'm missed. :/

Do you at least know what's causing the pains? or is this just a 'check under the hood'?

I had chronic acute pendicytus last fall that required emergency surgery. In December I started having these horrible chest pains...I thought that it was a heart attack...turnsout that my Gaul bladder needs to come out.

I came into the emergency room Saturday night...doc says I have an amazing tolerance for pain.

My wife still says I'm a woos...

That is what wives are for, they keep you strong by ridiculing you.

Those gall bladder attacks are the worst! I had mine out about 3.5 years ago. I got it out after the first one because I watched my mother nearly kill herself waiting so long to get hers out. I hope they get you fixed up and out of there soon!

Hope everything goes well Rock Home.

We are getting a great heavy rain here in south CS. Hope the burn area isn't getting what we are getting.

Let the two flocks mingle a little today. Went.....OK I guess. Had to put one of the Wellies back into her original pen as she had absolutely no interest in doing anything but chasing down, isolating and attacking my yellow EE. It's the she and the yellow EE that have been stalking each other on opposite sides of the fence every day. The other older girls pretty much ignored the young'uns unless they were trying to go after the same garden waste at the same time.

They spent about an hour and a half together (without the aggressive EE), no blood. I guess that's a good start.

I have a friend who claims that he cat is racist against orange cats so this made me think of your Wellie.

Well, I don't allow racism at my place so that freakin Wellie better just get over it. But from the day I got the 2 EEs and the 2 Dominiques, that one particular Wellie had selected the yellow EE as an adversary. She has not varied, nor diminished in her obvious dislike of the EE. It's not that she doesn't fuss with the others, but if the yellow girl is in sight, she leaves whatever she is doing (even eating scratch) to begin terrorizing the EE through the fence. I'm thinking when I finally integrate the two groups, there is one Wellie that will have t go in isolation.

My rooster Silver was like that with Mr Flufflybutt and LittleMan when we first merged the two flocks. We had no idea at the time that those two were Roos, but he did eventually got over it. If she isn't hurting the other EE then it's probably ok to let them work it out. Silver was significantly bigger than the other boys so we kept a very close eye on them for daily visits every day for a week. He would peck them, and chase them but that was the extent of what he would do. Then, once the little ones figured out who to avoid, we put them all in together permanently. The three boys coexist fine, even ganging up on the girls to make pancakes (mate) with them.
