I have noticed some spots that have some blood in them. I just assumed they were normal intestinal sloughing. Does anyone know how often they do it? I only have one or two spots occasionally.

But then today, I have some bright red blood. I think I have a chicken being picked as the only time I have ever seen bright red watery spots was with a pecking incident between roosters. Can anyone give any guidance on sloughing red poo (normal) and sick poo?

i'm going to be posting on craigslist later today but thought i'd let you guys know first.....

we have a pile of decking materials that we're going to be selling for $1 a linear foot (this stuff normally runs between $4 and $6 a linear foot). My husbands estimates that we have at least 1000 linear feet of it. I'll get a picture up later if anyone wants to see it.

We are in the process of starting our deck. I'd love to see whatcha got.

I got my first rubber duck eggs today. It was in the kiddie pool. I am not concerned as I read that if something causes them to expel and egg early, it can come out that way. I got an egg from her this morning so am assuming it is caused from coming out too soon.

On another note: I had a hawk buzz my area today. I sure wish the crows would come back.

Have people noticed an uptick on coyotes attacks in their areas? I know 2 people now who are having major coyote problems where they have never had issues before.

See anything wrong with this evening's pic of the back of my coop?

you can click on the pic to make it bigger.

I didn't even get to check on the chickens yesterday.

Took Beth in for Chemo, but ended up putting her in the hospital (Penrose main). We're hoping she'll be able to come home today. They drained 1 1/2 liters of fluid from her right lung. Haven't talked to her yet this morning, but she was breathing better last night and the O2 usage was down. She said she felt better but was very tired. We know that the fluid is there at least in pat because of the tumors, however the Docs are still trying to detmine why the fluid is building up so quickly.

I'll post an update later this afternoon.
