I'm just glad she's home. She feels much better, but is still very weak and tired. We got a "best case / worst case" time line from the oncologists, so we are planning aroound that.
What do you all think about moving my pullets out to the coop? They were hatched 8/22/12. I will keep the ones with bare backs inside still and only those that have their feathers I was considering putting them out. Whatcha think?
Poor cold chickens.
Lol good thing I didnt put my little pullets out. It would have been too cold I think for them. They will go out Friday hopefully.
My big girls on the other hand looked like wet dogs errr chickens.
I'm sure you are not a meanie. But mine would have gotten wet because all my chicks first time going out need help at dusk to get into the coop cause they don't know any better. But I worked tonight so I wasn't there at dusk to help them, thats why they didn't go out. I like the blanket idea. I'll put that on the bottom and then hay/straw. Thanks for the idea.I guess I'm just a meanie...As long as they were dry, I'd have put 'em out. I figure if I can sleep with my window open and sleep with just a thin blanket and not freeze then surely they can cuddle into their nice warm feathers for a comfortable night. I actually feel bad tonight because I had to close the window into their coop because of the rain.
The only ones of my flock that I'm overly concerned about still is the frazzled ones. I'm still miffed that Ideal sent me 3 of 5 with feather issues. They haven't responded back to me either. hmmpf

How disheartening that they sent you feather issues. I hope they respond and get you taken care of.
I was so sleepy coming home today and looking forward to climbing into bed only to get home and hubby tells me something killed one of our Pekin ducks.Argh.
Not sure if it was the male or female guess I'll find out in the morning. He's thinking it was the neighbors dog which is weird because the north neighbor dog never comes over here that I know of. So now I'm not sleepy.![]()

If you were, you wouldn't be worried about your frazzles. What are you going to do about them? Should we get together and knit a bunch of chicken sweaters?
