I wish I had time this Saturday to do them all. Hannah and I have to be at the school (Hanover) at noon. If we give ourselves 1 hour to clean up, that means we only have 3-4 hours. As this is the first time with the new setup, I want to have lots of time.

Hanover is a wonderful school, or at least it was for my son. One of the true rural school districts where every teacher knows every kid. My son started attending in second grade. When his class swelled to 19 pupils, they split the class and hired another teacher. He only graduated a couple of years ago, and I hope it is as wonderful an experience for your daughter as it was for my son. My personal belief is that it was a safe place for him to grow up and learn he was/is responsible for his own success.

Welcome! How long have you been driving over the road? Are you enjoying it?

See there, I can only get on about once a month - lots of stuff to catch up on.

I rode around last summer with my husband to see if i liked it and if we could get along on the road. I got my license in February and have been teaming with him for the last 9 months. I absolutely love it, although I miss our old lifestyle sometimes. It was tough getting rid of all our animals and embarking on this new journey, but it will be worth it.

In the mean time keep posting your pictures of fuzzy butts and eggs for me!

Hi Colorado chick! I wonder sometimes how some of my girls faired. Good to hear she's still kicking. Does she lay anything close to an olive egg? I really enjoy driving. At leat once a week I get behind the wheel and think to myself, "I'm driving a big truck woohoo!" It has been awesome to not have to live paycheck to paycheck and watch all our savings accounts grow and the bills shrink.

Got the "Feather Removal Device" (plucker) installed and working properly yesterday afternoon. Also got the Chicken Restraint Devices" (Dispatch cones) set up and in place. Got to go by a friend's place and pick up his large kettle for scalding today... A little more cleanup in the yard and we should be good to go for Saturday morning's activities.

Been giving evil looks to the now segregated #11 (Death Row). He gives us Evil looks in return..... Lots of shenanegans and disputations in the cockerel pen, that will be changing on Saturday as well........

The other cockerel , #23, in the main yard is enjoying his new-found status change

He see's love in the air........

Average daily lay for the past week is 7 and rising. Too many eggs arleady. Giving them away at this pint, because they are too small to really sell. When they get larger we will see about selling.

Please remember to video your first time with the plucker. We are counting on you!!!! I am down to zero eggs. Very sad not having any new layers to pick up the slack.
Oh well. I will be patient until January timeframeish.

The man in this ad is selling a breeding pair of serama chickens for $50. Am I missing something? Are they usually this expensive?

For a pair, and if they are good, probably. That's only $25 each. I'm not a follower of Serama's, so I wouldn't know if these are good or not. A trio of Dominiques out of fabulous lines will run about 50 each, or about $150 for the trio. Not including shipping.......

wahoo! Today was our first 3 egg day!
Our Dominique has been laying for about a month, my Buff Orpington followed 10 days later, but my Black Austrolorp has been the slow poke. Today she layed!!!

2 weeks ago I got 4 new chickies! They are now 10 weeks old and half the size of my 3 big girls. I have them separated and they are getting friendlier every day.
