Hello!

I have five runners that are over one year old now ( one is an old lady, 6+ years) and they are currently not laying.
My four Welsh Harlequins, six khakis and two Cayugas lay religiously (just started laying in august)
All of the laying ladies are producing white eggs and I miss my green and slightly blue runner eggs. I hope the ladies start laying again soon.

Anyone else have unique colored eggs? What breeds are laying them?
Just thinking about the future, and if I decided to someday get more ducks, I would like the variety of colored eggs.
Thank you!
(I've attached some photos of my colored eggs...when they're laid!)

Hi, hope you are enjoying BYC! :frow

Here is a link to breed comparisons showing which breeds MIGHT lay blueish eggs. I saw that Cayuga *might* even lay an almost black egg on occasion...

Looks like runners have the highest chance of colored eggs. I will also note that runners are a lot more affordable to feed. It is a lot of fun to have variety in your basket and to be surprised by what you get to collect. :pop

Thank you for the suggestions!! I checked out the info on Metzner farms, very informative thank you all again!
