Yes, except for the bubbly air cell in B3. I am resting them until Sat morning, unless the concensus is to put them in tomorrow. (I’m off on Sat for hatch, but not Fri…and I would like to be home for assists on day 21 & 22). What does everyone think? Is waiting until Sat a bad idea? I’ll do what’s best for the hatch…So, no visible air cells should mean that they aren't detached and/or saddled. I guess you will rest them for 24 hours, check again, then start incubating?
Thanks @DavidReaves I don’t think an extra 12 hours of sitting will hurt them that much. Appreciate the supportive push.Based on my recent hatch, being available for day 20 and 21 is the most important. I've read that the eggs can be held up to two weeks, but I wouldn't wait that long. I might rest them until Saturday night, but you know my expertise consists of one hatching.![]()
you have more expertise than me since my one hatching only consisted of 1 incubator baby and 1 under a broody. LOLBased on my recent hatch, being available for day 20 and 21 is the most important. I thought I read to let them sit 12-48 hrs? or 36 something like that. So would think letting them wait till Sat would be fine. may give the air cells a bit more time as well. Thanks @DavidReaves I don’t think an extra 12 hours of sitting will hurt them that much. When are yours coming? 18 hour difference is still pretty darn close! You can be my official “hatch twin”I thought I read to let them sit 12-48 hrs? or 36 something like that. So would think letting them wait till Sat would be fine. may give the air cells a bit more time as well.
I SOOO wish mine were getting here in time that I could set them at the same time as you again! But we should only be about 18 hrs or so apart so not bad. Since it will be hard to candle them since they will be under broody's I am going to have to live vicariously through you!
the eggs are on their way and should be here Sat! So I plan on setting them on Sunday. Thankfully I have Fathers day off since i normally work on Sundays. LOLWhen are yours coming? 18 hour difference is still pretty darn close! You can be my official “hatch twin”If I had broodys I would be sitting waiting for her to get up off the nest to eat, and then throw a blanket over my head to make it dark and candle a few eggs under the blanket. My neighbors would think I was crazy!
