Dear all.,

Read in article that for brown colouration of eggs in brown Poultry need porphrin from Hb means.. what about white eggs..??
no need of pigments..??

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

I believe, with the exception of blue eggs, all eggs are white until the bloom and pigment is put on at the end of the lay. Blue eggs are truly blue. But brown eggs are white to start with and the added color is put on last. For what ever reason, egg layers that lay white eggs do not have this pigmentation. With wild birds, there is added pigment for camouflage in the nest to confuse predators. Some chickens may still carry these genes for camouflage.
