Colourful and Unusual Chicken Eggs!

The colors are really fun! You’d think it would get old, but I’m always excited to go see who laid and what colors we have!

Ok please share who laid the darker blue eggs. My husband wants an assortment of colors and all of our EE blue eggs are very light blue.

All EEs but I'm still not sure who all the blue egg layers are.

Our EE girls all lay a lighter blue or a blue-green. Maybe I will look into an Ameraucana or a Cream Legbar and see if those are a bit more blue. Both are available locally from breeders.

I looked for that chart because of my two Wheaten Ameraucanas. One is all Wheaten colored with yellow legs and lays a bluer egg. The other is slightly smaller with a few dark feathers, slate legs but lays a greener egg.

Pretty eggs! I want to have chickens that lay all sorts of colors.

I think I want at least
a true Ameraucana
an Olive Egger
a French Copper Maran

I know the local breeder has both black and lavender Ameraucana just not sure what kind of Marans they have.

Of course no matter what color eggs the next batch of girls we get lay.....they will be loved & spoiled.

I was really lucky this year that some of my EEs lay a deep blue (one with spots) and some deep olive (with speckles). I lucked out. We'll see what their offspring lay.

Hi guys! Sorry I haven’t been on here for awhile.

Update: My other EE hen that I was waiting on has started laying the most beautiful leafy green / olive eggs! The colour is so intense and they’re very shiny. Many of my girls have just started laying again after their winter moult, it will be spring soon!
