Hi all,

Our wonderful ducklings (ducks?) Are going through their moult I believe the next stage is adult colours.

We have 2 x back and white, 1 X white and then 3 we aren't sure about. Is there any clue yet as to what they might look like?

We have the dark brown one is Dodger a male, light brown Lotus is also Male and Moon Pie who I think is a dusky apricot maybe? Or fawn and blue?

The boys moult is rough looking but Moon Pie is younger so hasn't really started but she is so beautiful 🥰

In the event that it's impossible to tell until they finish the moult when will that be 🤣 the boys are 11 weeks.

Just realised Dodgers Picture is rubbish so will take another when I finish work

For adult feathers to come in? Several months, actually. I had a Muscovy that had a black head in the Fall, and come Spring, her head was white with only a few specks of black!

No way that's madness!

It's absolutely driving me round the bend not knowing what they are going to look like.

I'm super impatient if you hadn't guessed 😂😂

I've googled endlessly and looking at lotus he had the colours of a female mallard so I'm not sure how that works 😂

I just thought that black runners for example will stay black even if they moult or cumberland blue is still Cumberland blue even through a moult. How do you know what colour runner you have if they are always changing.

Custard our white one will stay white though, is that right?
