I recently bought a flock of bantam Columbian Rocks, 1 rooster and 5 hens. I was just wondering if anyone else who owns them could tell me their quality?

Here’s some more pictures of them. They’re hard to get pictures of because they aren’t very friendly

Color is very clean. Watch the backs and don't breed anything with mossy or full black feathers. Obviously red is way out! These birds are very clean nice color.

I assume frostbite on the cock too. Ensure he and the females have five points to comb. It's hard to increase points on the male, easier on female.

Being bantam it's hard to be critical. But let me give it a try...these birds need more width. A few hens in photos I would not breed. You have five, pick the widest in tail without cushion and only breed from those two. These birds need more width, from shoulder to tail should be a rectangle, as close as you can get to it.

It's a good start and see no reason this flock can't improve. Be very selective in the breeding pen. Focus on width this mating. Cull to keep only the best. I hope you do not hatch eggs from all the hens. It would be a mistake and only hold back potential of this flock.
