Columbian wyandottes

OK, I just put in a join request.
Only two of my five are at all true to standard, but I'm more interested in their character than their perfection, since I'm not breeding them.
Tina, upper left, is closest to true form, then Terooha, the roo in the lower right. Two of the others have single combs, and one has mossy feathering.

So where or who did you get your birds from? The male does not look to bad. Like most CW's work needs to happen on type. Getting that good Wyandotte width is hard. My males are pretty wide all the way but need to work more on tail angle.

How is your egg size? sm med lg?

Did you check into the face book web site for Columbian Wyandotte's?

Rob

one lays large, the others lay medium. Four hens, 58 eggs this month, but the days are still short and it's been cold. Last year from spring to fall we were getting 85 to 90 eggs a month.

yes, I'm on the FB page- got my birds from Primrose Farm Park in St Charles, IL.

Ooh! Really cute chick! You've got me hooked, I'll order those when I buy chicks in the spring. I have two silver-laced wyadottes (Debrah and Wynona) that are awesome! Do they have the same mannerisms as other Wyandottes and do they often become broody?
yes indeed these birds are ADDICTIVE all right ,its wyandott love all sooo pretty & fun to have around.

i guess you already know that from your (Debrah and Wynona) i have both the silver laced wyandotts & the Colombian wyandotts, but we also have roos for the both kinds ,but still hoping that one of them will turn broody..... already....lol.

I have 4 broody ones out of my 50 CW's but just broke 3 from broody last week.

Have any pictures of your CW's?

You know there is a Facebook group for CW's
