Comb and wattle size

How do you reduce the size of a comb and wattles on a roo? I realize this can be done by selective breeding. What about crossing on a pea comb/beard and then regaining original type comb? I believe it has been shown on Silkies selecting for muff and beard reduces the wattles. Suggestions appreciated.

What breed are you working with?

If you are not working with a specific breed, I would suggest going to swap meets and finding a rooster that has a small comb. You are going to have to find a male that has a small comb and wattles then use it to line breed. Mediterranean breeds have larger combs-so stay away from them.
