Comb blocking vision

I too have a Leghorn with a floppy comb that covers the left eye. She gets along fine. She went broody and her comb dried up. But she is back and the comb is nice and large. I'm not concerned about it. She apparently isn't either.
Good luck with yours
Thank you! That helps a lot! I will just let her be and see how things go:)

I raise Silkies and have NEVER yet seen a large COMB that could cover the eyes on ladies... are you sure it's female @ 16 weeks... sounds male. Pic would help. :fl
No I'm not positive that she is a she, but she is the same age as my other silkie who has a very large wattle and crows all the time. She really doesn't have a wattle to speak of and does not crow. I will go see if I can get her to hold still long enough for a picture. Wish me luck!:D

I've got a hen just like that!
It's got a HUGE comb hanging down and if I'm honest, I've never picked up on it walking badly so it must do fine. Unless it's really that bad, it seems a bit unnecessary to have it 'dubbed'. Just my point of view.

I agree, it sounds like it's just something that she will learn to deal with. All of my animals seem to have some odd quirk, so she fits right in!

Also, a friend of mine once dubbed a chicken and is became very upset and startled.
To be honest, that's hardly surprising! :)
As you said, without some kind of anaesthetic, the chicken would be in dire pain.
Nothing wrong with a quirky hen is there! :)

I think it makes them all the more charming!

Pics?

If it is her comb I am not sure much can be done.

If it is her poofy feathers a careful trim is helpful.
