I keep reading stuff about the brightness or color of the comb being an indication that pullets are getting to the age that they'll be ready to lay... anyone care to elaborate for me?

I would get red in the face if i had to lay an egg. lol. I've read that it's like ppl blushing. It can be from several sources.. getting hot, scared, excited, etc. I don't know how you would tell what the cause was. Don't know if this helps but i hope so.
