I'm not sure I have this in the right forum because it doesn't seem to be a disease or injury, at least I don't think it is. This is my chicken, Willie on 9/6.

This is her today.

Is her comb normal? This just started a week and a half ago. She's fine otherwise and nothing such as food, environment, etc. has changed.

It's normal for a lot of chicken breeds' combs to 'fall over' and flop

She is a Welsummer though I wonder if she might be mixed with something as she has tiny, feathery areas on her legs and between her toes!

Hi @PennyM

I think she is fine - but you did give me a giggle, which I needed by the way:lol:
Your photos are great - she's looking all sweet and curious with a somewhat straight comb in the first, then the next is just classic with ticked off expression like her hair has fallen flat :lau

Seriously though - combs can do all sorts of things at times - if she has a bit of a mix, then I would have to assume that is what is making the comb look that way. I like it, it's unique. If you notice any scabs or if it turns very dark like purple-ish, then there would be need for concern.

I hope all goes well for you.

LOL I can see why she is your favorite! I do really like the comb.

I have 1 white leghorn that has a floppy comb (supposed to be that way), but I just get a kick out watching her. She's very active and so is that comb. I have yet to get a photo of her - it's all a blur:)

Awww..... she's cute. It reminds me of a court jesters hat. I'm like you and surprised how much I really love my chickens. They are much funnier than I ever imagined. One of my cockerels is a Rhode Island Red and hist comb and wattles have gotten pretty large. When he's out in the yard with his flock he is in alert mode and it all jiggles.
