I just got my three girls on Saturday (ISA Browns). One has a significantly larger comb than the other two. One lays much larger eggs than the other two. I know that their eggs start off on the small side when they first start laying and get to full size with time. I haven't figured out which of the girls lays that large egg yet. Is it possible that the one with the larger comb is older and therefore laying the larger egg?
They were so funny on Sunday. I had set out a nice dustbath for them given they were set up on nice long grass, but all they did was eat from it - instead they scratched out a hole in the grass about 4 inches in diameter and about half an inch deep and all three decided to bathe in it together. Silly chickies. By yesterday, two of them had truly figured out the purpose of the dustbath and had themselves a lovely dustbath duet.
I love my girls. Especially now that they tip the gender balance in our house in my favour.
