Three week old Blue Ameraucana. I am already leaning towards Roo for this one strictly on behavior, but there is something up with this comb. Help? I can't seem to find anything else like it. Deformed? Something other than single? Totally at a loss.

Yes, it's a male, and it's just another type of comb. Technically all variations from single comb/straight crest are deformed after all but they're stable deformities and not a risk to health, generally. ;)

...I say generally because crossing chooks with different types of combs can lead to deformities of comb which cause health issues, for example one rooster I had before had a crest/comb that was wide like your chooks', but smooth, with four spikes or tines. At least it looked like it had 4. Actually it had 5 and the very last one turned into the base of the comb and caused a blocked abscess which perpetually reinfected. I would have ended up dubbing him, i.e. removing at the very least that end spike, but he died of other issues first.

ETA: his beak looks slightly deformed in that pic, but his comb looks normal. He looks like he possibly has a slight degree of crossbeak.

Best wishes.
