Our oldest birds are 12 weeks old EEs , 5 are going to SIL for processing we are keeping two roos from them for now.
I have 26 chicks two weeks old in the brooder right now and 6 polish coming in the Tuesday or Wednesday.
I have a small coop 5 x 10 I'm planning on putting the two week olds in with a heat lamp and then putting the polish in the brooder. Now I'm thinking maybe I should try to put the polish in with the other chicks who will be about 3 weeks old by then. Or will it be better to keep them all separated till they are all older? Or maybe I could keep the 5 cochins in with the 6 polish since the cochins are so laid back then when the get bigger put them all together?
Eventually I want to have them all together and use the small coop for breeding certain ones.
Any ideas on the best way to do this ? ..lol it would of been so much easier if one hatchery would of had all the breeds at one time then there wouldn't be a three week age difference.
