Combining breeds

So I have a Brahma rooster so about 8-10 pounds. Could I put some silkie hens with the flock or no?

You could, would it be advisable? I guess it depends upon whether there are other larger hens as well, and if the Brahma decides to pick on them. If he has plenty to choose from, with proper integration, they should be fine.

I could watch them. We are just going to most likely make a separate coop. Thanks

You might look here, also - Backyard Chickens Brahma over Silkie thread. A lot of it is comments like mine tend to be, expressing agreement or showing off flock, but there are some decent pictures of the Brahma over Silkie mix.

If I'm reading the calculator right (I'm VERY new at this), looks like they would be sex-linked too, roos black pattern gold, pullets black pattern silver - which is consistent with the few pictures in that thread of the cross.
