Our 9 chicks will be 7 weeks old next week and we have 5 established (7-8 month old) hens. They've both been in a temporary coop in our garage for 3 weeks side by side (can see each other, right next to each other)

while I build and finish our coop and run. This weekend I'll be finished and I'll be introducing them.
What kind of hiding spots can I put in the run? This is a pic of the unfinished coop/run (I don't have a current one yet)

As an aside, at least 4 of the chicks will not be with us much longer, as they're roos and we will need to find a home for them, so I don't plan to have more than 12 in our coop, ever, anyways.

I usually put several roosts up.I also have a dog house I have sat in a corner, basically set at an angle so the younger ones can go back and sit and if someone comes and tries to bother them they can just fly up or run out the sides from the back of the dog house, it’s pretty much a hiding spot.

This is my run layout:

Really anything works as obstacles - old patio furniture, pallets... though since your run isn't very large I'd try to keep things as open as possible, so nothing that eats up too much floor space. Also keep in mind that anything that's up against a wall needs 2 exits, so a chick can't get trapped by an adult.
