combs have been developing blackish dots.

My 6-8 month.old laying hens , flock of 12 have been getting some black on their combs the past month or so . picture posted below, is it dangerous and if yes how do I treat ? TIA

Sorry to be blunt, but not a single one of the photos you posted shows the black bumps you're talking about. Go look at them.

Okay, that said, the most common black spots on the comb can be from the chickens pecking each other which are of uneven size, or they could be a form of dry pox which would be tiny and round, and appear as tiny dots on the comb. The first needs no treatment. The second will go away if you apply Blue-kote on them.

If it's winter where you are, it could be frostbite, but there's no treatment.
 
It's hard to tell from the pictures but to me it looks like dirt. Are you able to get clearer, closer pics? Have someone hold the chickens for you while you take the pictures if they won't hold still.

Do the black dots look like raised bumps? Or just black coloration?
