combs that turn blue in parts sometimes

This is mine, but she was dust bathing at the time and that was mentioned as a cause. She is a funny bird, and has a huge comb with lots of little points. It was cold that day and I had just introduced a new batch of seven chicks to the coop so, lots of stress. She also has a very delicate palate and unlike the other chickens who will eat whatever I put in front of them she is quite picky. So maybe her all the factory system is just more sensitive than the others.

Hi my little 3 month old chick is unwell her legs are lame fine one day jumping about to next off her legs , one leg is worse than the other , both pointing forward, I’ve tried phoning the vet but they won’t see her because of bird flu going about . Sent them a video which they haven’t even bothered to get back to me yet. Don’t know what to do to help her , noticed since she’s been like this she was infested with lice which I’ve been treating , she’s eating and drinking ok , started giving her harkers coxoid I think that’s what it’s called for coccidiosis just incase when she first took unwell her poop was creamy and runny one day and the next looked like blood string in it but read this can be normal , now it seems to have went back to normal I think sometimes I’m not sure if there’s slight blood or not . also I’ve just started her on a vit b12 & b’s could only get a human grade so only put in one drop to her water , can’t get multi vet anywhere in the uk for chickens sold out , I’m feeding her good veg that can help with vitamins , and herbs also purchased some good health powder and pellets and a drink to help her , was going to purchase baby vitamins not sure if using human grade will be to high a strength or not , first little chick I’ve had so not sure what to do to help her all I have is the internet which comes up with lots of disease but how can you tell which one or if she has any or not , very stressed for the poor we soul don’t want to be putting her through any unnecessary pain . Any advice would be grateful , jackie

This is not urgent, but I have been curious. I notice that sometimes my chickens combs will turn bluish purple on only parts. Sometimes just the back, sometimes just the tips of the points. Sometimes cold days, sometimes warm. Sometimes an older bird, sometimes young (who've never been through a winter--I was thinking frostbite). They're fine, though. I notice sometimes in pictures of showbirds or even pictures in a magazine they'll have this. Anyone know what causes it? Just curious. Laureen
Hi Laureen no it is frosty he just cold and she was fine yesterday at dinner couldn’t find her this morning as she and the others left them selves out for the day.
