COME ON!!! Let's See Some Snow COOPS!!! I KNOW Their Out There!!!

Our coops are movable so we wheeled them near the house so we wouldn't have to shovel far. We put plywood on the side of the runs on the back coop and our barnwood coop (other side.. can't see them in the pic) and snow still got it. They are 3 feet high. Jus wild! We didn't get 3 feet.. it just drifted like that near the coops.

12' is a bad winter we usually have around 3' to 6'. Here's the thing. I can plow, shovel, and stack snow. Can't say that about snakes, tornados or floods.

As a matter of scale, here's my snow pile from 2008. Shop is 14' at the eave. By the end of the season I could walk off the snow pile onto the shop roof.

But as a matter of contrast, we also get to enjoy this as a result

No snow here in SC. I'm praying for a dusting before winter is over. I love all the snow pics.
BUT, the summer pic is the best!

Many of you have had a tough winter- more snow and cold than in 'normal' years.
Even here we've made plans to improve the run with some framed vinyl panels for next year.
We've used platforms in the run since the start so that the hens can be out but not in the snow, if they choose.
In the two previous winters the snow was half way up the red panels we added to the base of the run.
