Eh, I love the cold! You just don't want to stay in too long, or else you die.Yeah, if you wanted to be an ice cube.
I've died enough times in the Puget Sound to know that you can't just go swimming. Still too cold for me when I'm in my full wetsuit. Luckily I don't have to do sailing again and only did it for one semester. I much prefer snorkeling in the Bahamas, Mexico, and other nice and warmmm places.
I hate the cold. I used to think I hated the heat, but would give anything (except my birds) to go back. I love to swim, and unfortunately up here in the arctic that's not possible. Up here you can't go to the beach and have a beach day - you have to go to the beach just to look at the water, you can hardly even swim in it.Eh, I love the cold! (But seriously - it's so sad - one kid, on his graduation day, decided to celebrate by taking a boat out into the Puget - then he fell in and they couldn't get him out for 15 minutes - and he died from the cold.It happened right in front of my grandmother's house. )
Many of my family have caught hypothermia - they lived, thankfully.
But for me, I jump from a really high dock into the water, summer or winter. I just get out within 15 minutes in the summer, and 5 minutes in the winter.![]()
I feel you - the water is always cold in the Puget Sound, and half the time, there isn't any beach that you can even enjoy - just huge, barnacled rocks or a cliff. (And the water can also have some scary stuff in it!)I hate the cold. I used to think I hated the heat, but would give anything (except my birds) to go back.
