I feel you - the water is always cold in the Puget Sound, and half the time, there isn't any beach that you can even enjoy - just huge, barnacled rocks or a cliff. (And the water can also have some scary stuff in it!)

I personally have never swam in the Puget sound, but I have found the Hood Canal to be quite pleasant at low tide : )

I've heard the Hood Canal was supposed to be pretty warm, but when I went it still felt like death. Maybe it's just cause I'm a Texas girl.
