Awesome!!! I’ll watch it tonight and take a break from Criminal Minds LOL
That’s a super hard show to take a break from; of course a break of bright, happy colours and songs are sometimes needed between murder! It’s practically my favourite. There’s not many shows that I can just sit and watch for hours but that one. Which season are you on?

My spouse and I with our friends (chosen family really) have our “Murder and Manies” where we do our nails while watching Criminal Minds.

As for Frozen, I like the second one, but the first one...I loathe to pieces. It just fell so flat; the music is the only thing that gave it any survivability. Brave I have some issues about. I like the Marvel movies because the humour is enough to keep me going with the action. Most “princess” Disney movies I can live without.
Romance. Blec.
Brave was my favorite when I was younger.
As for Frozen, I have to agree, it's not great - though I did like the music. The only thing about it that really resonated with me was the Scandanavian themes - (I'm partly Scandanavian.) However, some of the facts were waaaay off about it, so....meh.
I have to agree, what I appreciated so much about Moana is how they actually went and gathered the facts, not just make-believe and stick it in Scandanavia like Frozen. And now I sound like a horrible, snobbish person, so I'll stop.

Yeah I love crime/mystery/detective type shows LOL and I’m on season 6! Or actually I think I might have just finished that one and started 7. But I actually got up to 10 like years ago and then stopped but I don’t remember anything 😂🤣🙈🙈🙈

That sounds amazing!! Hahah :love

I don’t think you sound snobbish at all! That’s part of your heritage so you’re allowed to be upset. Hopefully the second Frozen honoured your ancestors better than the first! ❤️

Though I have to admit that I can’t wait until I can see the live action Mulan. The animated movie bothers me greatly with all the horrible stereotypes , so I hope the live action is redeeming.
Going to say that I personally loved that movie - however, many people aren't a fan of it, because it's not like the original Disney Mulan.
Why I love it? Because it's based on the actual story of Mulan in Chinese culture a long time ago, with details and facts from the original story, unlike the other movie.
The sadder differences?
Read the spoiler with your own caution:
There's no singing like the original movie, and no Mushu, which many people were sad about. The other thing about this movie, though more true to the original story, is that Mulan doesn't just have flat out courage and strength, like the original movie. In the original, she's a girl with high expectations and little freedom, with seemingly nothing special about her. She is constantly spoken down to and receives little respect. Despite this, in the original movie, Mulan stays strong and goes to war in place of her father, not knowing what could happen to her, having no military experience before, etc. However, in the new movie, she has a gift called chi, which is only supposed to be a gift for men, but she has it. And it helps her to do abnormal things and gives her supreme strength. She is forced to hide it, but that does give her the upper hand, and even a little more confidence, if you will.

I loved the animated Mulan when I was younger because I’m drawn to more Asian cultures, strangely (Japanese and Chinese for sure). Unfortunately the more I learned the more I didn’t like. Mushu actually annoys the...dumplings...out of me (tiny annoying Japanese dragon).

Triednottoreadthespoiler! Read the spoiler. I’m glad it follows more traditionally. Though I did find out that Mulan may have been found out as a woman because the emperor offered her (as portraying a man) one of his daughters for marriage. Awkward.

Ahh! I’m on season...5ish? I can only watch it either when we’re pet sitting or when our friends are watching. No electric so no tv. I do miss Netflix.

We stopped too, obviously I guess. Does Russo (I think that’s the name) get any better? He’s been growing on me, but it’s a hard act to follow Gideon.

Thank you! I did think that the second Frozen was absolutely beautifully done! Both being Norwegian-themed, (I'm Norwegian), I did find this one to have a few more facts that were correct - though they did mess up a few things, but, hey - it's a movie, and I'm not asking them to do a historical document! :D
I also adored the music in the second one - I found the way it was sung to be much like how they would have sung a long time ago in Norway - I know a few Norwegian songs, and aside from the different languages, some of them were pretty similar - and the call was extremely like the one that was used back then. (Fun fact, a Norwegian singer who I really like did the voice, so even more authentic! She's known as AURORA. :D )

That’s so awesome! I’m glad they did a much better job this time. Like you said, it’s not a historical document so it can’t all be completely 100%. I agree to music was great too, especially the calling. I’ll have to look AURORA up.

I do have a question that I could probably google, so I’m sorry(please don’t send me a “let me google that for you link). I know the Samoyed people are still in Russia. We’re they prevalent in Norway too?

I love Moana!
I do love Moana! The story is incredible! The music is spectacular! And IT HAS A CHICKEN!
Most “princess” Disney movies I can live without.

I do agree. Disney princesses aren't really my cup of tea. Beauty and the Beast is probably my favorite classic princess, but Ariel is my favorite princess.

I liked Tangled okay too, but really loved the fact that Moana didn't end with everything being okay because she married a big strong man. Moana ended with a girl who achieved her goals and didn't settle for anything less than her dreams.

But I do love the Disney classics like: Lion King (best movie ever), Bambi, 101 Dalmatians, Dumbo, etc....
