Community box vs nest boxes

I leave fake eggs in every nest box and in case one hen finds her favourite box occupied, she will wait a while in front lamenting but hen use another one which soon becomes her new favourite.

I have the fake eggs too. I didn't realize this would encourage them to use a different nest box. So far, only one of hours is laying. It's going to be funny when they all start laying. I'm just looking forward to that drama. Lol

Mine just started laying. She's laid 6 eggs so far - and the first one was TOTAL drama like nothing I've ever seen. I even wrote a little story about it: How I played midwife to our Ameracauna - It was an adventurous day! LOL

Yes. I just thought I was gonna die from heat exhaustion inside the coop. She was fine, but I'm no spring chicken
