Bummer. They look like really great plans! I am sure many lurkers and future members will stumble across these plans and be stoked! Thank you for all your time and effort on this!

Chrystal has her hands full with a young family and a business. She was sweet enough to begin work on the chicken coop, but it didn't seem that there was much feed-back on her plans.
There had been plenty of talk *before* the plans were posted. .
There were also not many 'thank yous' afterward, either.

Perhaps Chrystal thought that we had lost interest. I thought she worked up a wonderful diagram, and a good basic coop that chicken owners could adapt to their own circumstances.

Crystal is VERY MUCH appreciated for her efforts on this project. It is a good plan and she has done a great job.

Unfortunately, there are some issues with other aspects of the board that need attention at this time. This is only temporary, and we will be back to this fun project as soon as we can.

I just stumbled across this thread. We have ten peeps in the brooder that I'll need to build shelter for as soon as the five feet of snow on the ground melts. Odds are that five of them will be roosters that we'll name "Stew", so I might be the perfect candidate to test-drive this five-peep-coop.

I agree, I think the plan is great! That is why I am so interested in it. Thanks to Crystal for her work on it. I think I will use it for my new coop, or like was talked about, modify it slightly.

I strongly agree with it being raised. In some of these neighborhoodes, they dont want their grass dead when they move the coop. It leaves an ugly spot. Also, if it could be lightweight enough to be a tractor, it looks better in small yards to not be stationary

I just started reading this thread and am only on page 3 but wanted to comment on one "issue".

Someone posted that they wish there was a larger clean out door. On the smaller coops, this can be easily done by making one wall hinged so that the whole wall is a door.

This is our coop. We live in the city and it is P.E.R.F.E.C.T! We modified it to house the number of chickens that we wanted and made it to fit in with our home. In our opinion it is a wonderful style for backyard chicken owners. We will beef up our coop page this week if anyone wants more information. Feel free to pm if you have any questions. We have put some of the steps... but haven't put in a lot of details.

We put in a slanted (rubber covered) interior coop floor with a ~3inch H x 3 ft slot on the end to simply hose out any nighttime 'debris'. The front window opens and makes easy access for and inside coop access. The side door opens to reveal four nest boxes.

Nifty, My husband is a builder and might be willing to help with the endevor. Maybe you need material list... stp by step...??? I will ask! It took him two weekends to build ours.

We used google sketch up to see what it would look like in our yard but as far as a step by step program for building it isn't the greatest.

ctychix just built one... she & her husband did an A.M.A.Z.I.N.G job!

Very nice, way better than the "chicken whisperer's" coop I saw on tv the other day. Personally I believe that backyardchickens.com has more "chicken whisperers" than site I've been too
