Also, if you are actually boarding someone's horse, make sure your farm insurance covers it! We added coverage when we were boarding both horses and cattle, cheap at the price. Accidents happen!

I agree with others, an equine friend would probably be better. Mini horses, mini mules, and mini donkeys are small so will eat less. You could check rescues for older ones, you'd really be helping whoever you brought home!
